The Action Cycle
The final essential element in the PYP:
Knowledge and attitudes mean little unless they cause one to take action. It is our challenge to offer Animas Valley students the opportunity and power to make a difference in their family, their school, their community or their world!
The action cycle is the simple yet powerful tool used to teach children how to take action. By going through the three steps of choosing, acting and then reflecting back upon the results of their choice, students are able to grow socially and emotionally. We all feel connected to people when we take action to make a situation better.
Action is an important part of student's participation in their own learning!
- action, which is an expectation in the PYP that successful inquiry leads to responsible, thoughtful and appropriate action.
